My fitness is not the best, can I still train?2022-04-14T14:36:55+10:00

Our training classes caters for all genders, sizes, limitations & levels of fitness. Your level of fitness starting out will not hinder you; as you are pushed to the level that is challenging but capable. But over regular training you will not only see your skills & confidence improving, but your fitness will increase whilst doing something a whole lot more dynamic & fun. And being fitter not only enhances training in class, but enhances all life aspects.

We also run twice/week our CombatFit classes that are included in all Training Passes. These sessions focus on functional movement, bodyweight, striking, kettlebells in a group class setting. Every class always has different exercises & formats, so each session is challenging and interesting.

Does Primal having a grading or belt system?2022-04-14T14:43:47+10:00

With its origins in the Military, Krav Maga has grades in the form of ranks & patches.  And with regular attendance students can expect to grade in 4 months. Our classes are not focused on “belt jumping” – as we focus on training techniques that can assist you to deal with realistic problems rather than techniques or katas that are easy to grade. And since Krav Maga builds its skill set from high probability encounters with high probability solutions – there is a structured curriculum to help students proficiently and safely progress.

After successfully grading two short Novice terms, practitioners can then graduate to the Intermediate class where things really are taken up a notch! The Krav Maga curriculum reflects more complex problems and dangerous situations. Your instructors will also include Kinetic Fighting, Muay Thai, Boxing, BJJ, Judo and MMA techniques applicable to Krav Maga and realistic self-defence – the only Krav Maga school in Brisbane who can.

Those who continue to train and graduate to Advanced class get to train at the only specialised Advanced-level in Brisbane and we have accepted many higher-level Krav Maga practitioners looking for more of an edge and ability to their skills. Our Advanced students are also trained to be able to grade in Jissen Budo events, which are full-contact, Mixed Martial Art camps to help hone and sharpen their skills against trained opponents.

We also teach within our Self-Defence classes Kinetic Fighting techniques, and run official Kinetic Fighting seminars throughout the year, enabling you to grade in the Australian Defence Force’s combative system.

Remember an Expert is a Beginner who never quit!

What do I need to bring to training?2022-10-22T19:53:51+10:00

Krav Maga being a practical self-defence system, we train in anything you would be comfortable wearing to a gym or working out. Practitioners wear a T-shirt or top, any pants or shorts, and must have clean shoes preferably with flat soles. Bring to each class a water bottle, towel and possibly a spare shirt in the summer months.

As your training progresses it is advised for your own safety to invest in a mouthguard, groin protection & shin guards – all available for discounted purchase in class.
